Welcome to the Cuca hut on Seceda

Alpine hut in Santa Cristina with traditional cuisine and children’s playground, directly on the ski slopes and hiking trails of the Puez-Odle Natural Park.

Open in both summer and winter, the Cuca hut is the perfect place to take a break while out in the mountains. Here you will find everything you could wish for during a tour: authentic South Tyrolean cuisine, a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space for all ages to enjoy themselves. During the warmer months, you can reach us on foot via various hiking trails, or more comfortably

by taking the Col Raiser cable car in Santa Cristina or the Seceda cable car in Ortisei followed by the Fermeda chairlift. The hut is surrounded by alpine meadows and offers impressive views of the Sassolungo and the Sella Group. There is also a spacious play area with a trampoline, zip line, Kneipp stream and much more. In winter, the Cuca hut is located right on the Seceda downhill run, making it a popular stop for skiers. Whether you are in the snow or on the summer meadow, whether you are wearing ski boots or carrying a hiking backpack, the Cuca hut is the perfect place for you. Here, you can experience authentic, familiar and uncomplicated hut moments.

After a hike or ski tour, visitors can look forward to hearty cuisine that is both tasty and well-prepared. As well as South Tyrolean specialities such as bacon and cheese platters, the dumpling trio and Kaiserschmarrn, the menu features also popular Italian dishes. Those who like hearty food will find plenty to enjoy here, as will those looking for lighter options. There are also suitable portions and favourite dishes for children that taste good and give them energy. No frills, just good food that nourishes and brings joy.

There is plenty for children to discover here. The large meadow, complete with swings, slides, trampolines and zip lines, is always bustling with activity. The Kneippbach stream, complete with wooden bridges and a watercourse, is particularly popular, offering the perfect opportunity to splash around, explore and build things. While the children play, adults can relax in the sunshine on the terrace and admire the stunning views of the Dolomites. This way, a short break quickly becomes an experience for the whole family.

A stop to breathe deeply

There are several ways to reach us in summer. Starting from the Cristauta car park in Santa Cristina, follow the “Troi dla Schirlates” trail. After a short climb, you will arrive at the hut. Alternatively, if you prefer a more leisurely pace, take the Col Raiser cable car and walk from the mountain station to the hut along a path suitable for prams in a few minutes. You can also access us from Ortisei by taking the cable car up to Seceda. From there, you can reach the hut by taking the Fermeda chairlift or walking down the panoramic path, which leads directly to the hut in about twenty minutes.

A destination to warm up

In winter, the Cuca hut is located right on the ski slope leading down from Seceda to Santa Cristina, in the heart of the world famous Dolomiti Superski area. If you are skiing or snowboarding, you can easily stop on the sun terrace for a break and recharge your batteries. Outside, you will find the tranquillity of the snow-covered landscapes in the Puez-Odle Natural Park while inside a cosy hut atmosphere, hearty meals and a fantastic view of the Dolomites await you.
